Rachel Ann Brooks Humphries, age 85 of Shelby, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 7, 2020.

She is survived by her son, Ronald Humphries and wife Mercedes of Kings Mountain, NC, three grandchildren, Todd Tongel and wife Sara of Shelby, NC, Deanna Webb and husband Kaleb of Shelby, NC, and Jon Daniel Humphries of Kings Mountain, NC, and four great grandchildren, Taylor Tongel, Madilyn Humphries, Luke Webb, and Eli Webb.

Born July 30, 1935 in Cleveland County, Rachel was the daughter of the late Samuel and Vada Hawkins Brooks and was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Humphries and a brother, Hebert Brooks.

Rachel was an LPN. Rachel enjoyed playing the piano and painting intricate designs on ceramics.

The family will hold a private graveside service at Double Springs Baptist Church.

The family would like to express a sincere thanks to Sue Nugent, Stacy Oppelt, and Lynn Jones for the loving care and attention that they gave Rachel during her time of need.
