Rachel Pope Durham, 55, died Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Atrium Health Cleveland.

Born in Mecklenburg County, she is the daughter of Judy Pope of Mt. Holly and the late Harold Pope. She was a dedicated employee of The Pancake House for 20 years, where she loved to cook and be around the people. She had a passion for her grandchildren. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Barry Durham of the home; son, Austin Durham and wife Britany of Kings Mountain; daughter, Nicole Almaraz and husband Carlos of Forest City; sisters, Wendy Pope of Lowell and Lori Martin and husband Tim of Mt. Holly; grandchildren, Addison, Carson and Jayden Durham and Maverick and Millie Almaraz; and her father-in-law, Ray Durham of Kings Mountain. The family will receive friends 4:30-6:00 P.M. Monday, March 13, 2023 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home in Kings Mountain. Funeral services will follow in the chapel at 6:00 P.M. with the Rev. Marty Meadows officiating.
