Rachel Reid Webber

Rachel Reid Webber, 87, died Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Hospice at Wendover.

A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Andy and Mary Lou Williams Reid. Rachel was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Lawndale and she worked for Belk and Shope's Shoes. She served as Director of Entertainment at the Cleveland County Fair and was part owner of Triple W Racing Pigs. Rachel had a talent for making things pretty. She loved her family and enjoyed cooking, caring for children, sewing, working in her flowers and eating chocolate. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene L. Webber; brothers, Harry and Bud Reid; and sisters, Marilyn Revels and Barbara Icard. She is survived by her daughters, Wanda Webber, Lynn Bridges and husband Doug, Lou Ann Webber, Amy Hamrick and husband Jason and Staci Dyer and husband Jason, all of Shelby; sister, Joan Franklin of Vale; grandchildren, Josh Bridges and wife Sabrina, Hannah Wilkins and husband Peter, Ethan Hood, Logan Calvert, Morgan and Aaron Hamrick; great-grandchildren, Chesney, Caroline, Callie-Ann, Lillian and Lucas; and sister-in-law, Sara Eubanks of Shelby. The family will receive friends 3:00 - 5:00 P.M. Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 3, 2023 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Carson Putnam officiating. Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County.
