Ralph Clayton Covington age 72 died Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Carolinas Healthcare Cleveland. Born in Cleveland County on June 2, 1943, he was the son of the late Richard Champion and Phyrnia Elaine Hamrick Covington. Ralph was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church. Ralph served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam conflict. He was a farmer by trade and enjoyed farming, helping the neighbors and being outside.

He is survived by two sisters, Mary Agnes Howard of Shelby and Ann Waters and husband Arnold of Forest City; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday November 22, 2015 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton

Funeral Home and Crematory with the Rev. Ernie Cole officiating. Burial will follow at Double Springs Baptist Church with Military Honors. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm.
