Ralph Delano Jones, age 87, of Forest City, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, November 11, 2019, at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Ralph was born on June 29, 1932 in Jackson County, NC to the late Preston David Jones and Callie Sorrells Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, five sisters and a grandson, Tony Swink.

Ralph worked in textiles for many years and was also a former Associate Pastor of Shingle Hollow Congregational Holiness Church. He loved to hunt and fish, but most of all he loved to read his bible.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 67 years, Norma McCall Jones; one son, Mike Jones (Teresa), of Conover, NC; two daughters, Cathy Jones Swink (Paul), of Forest City; and Denise Jones McCraw (David), of Mooresboro; thirteen grandchildren, Ami Williams, Heather Trickett (Dusty), Brent Jones, Shane Jones, Kim Raulston (Phillip), Roger Swink (Shanna), Renee Pettit, (Freddie), Randy Swink, Amanda Barrier (Michael), Alisa Phillips (Chondre), Tyler Swink (Alexis), Josh McCraw, Jordan Oxendale; twenty-five great-grandchildren and five great-great- grandchildren.

The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at the Shingle Hollow Congregational Holiness Church with Reverend Jamie Pascarella, Reverend Jack Crain, Reverend Leon Brown and Reverend Chad Sisk officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church. In-Lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to WM Department of Shingle Hollow Congregational Holiness Church, 2466 Cove Road, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
