Ralph Parker, 81, of 569 Wes Cook Rd. in Casar, died Saturday August 4, 2012 at his home.

Born in Cleveland County on October 28, 1930, he was a son of the late Buford Avery Parker and Vice Elizabeth Suttles Parker. He was a member of Olive Grove Baptist Church where he was a deacon for numerous years and a member of the Casar Masonic Lodge #579. He was a retired supervisor for Habersham Furniture.  He also served in the US Army.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Alvin Parker.

Survivors include his wife of fifty nine years, Coleen Walker Parker, one son, Danny Parker of Casar, one daughter, Diana Cook of Casar, three grandchildren, Jeffery, Jason, and Ashley Parker, seven great grandchildren, three brothers, Authur & Glenn Parker both of Casar, and Wade Parker of Orange Springs, FL, four sisters, Margie Black of Albemarle, Marie Brackett of Lawndale, Annieverle Stevenson of Bryson City, and Shirley Pearson of Morganton.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00PM at Stamey Funeral Home in Fallston.

The funeral service will be Wednesday at 2:00PM at Olive Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Terrill Crump officiating. The body will be placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Masonic Graveside Rites by Casar Masonic Lodge #579.
