Mr. Randall Paul Shook age 62, died Friday January 18, 2013 at his home. Born in Buncombe county he was the son of the late Maurice Paul and Etta Lucille Gasperson Shook. Mr. Shook was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. He worked for FMC Lithium as a chemist for over 31 years, was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church and a former member of the Boiling Springs Lions Club. After his stroke, to keep his spirits up, Mr. Shook started going to all of the Gardner Webb Sporting events. He became an avid supporter of the students and developed friendships with some of the athletes.
Mr. Shook is survived by his wife of 43 years, Renna Bowen Shook; a son, Ron Shook of Boiling Springs; a daughter Jennifer Bradstreet and husband Dr. Jeff Bradstreet; a grandson, Aaron Lackey; and several aunts, uncles and cousins in the Asheville area.
Funeral services will be held on Monday January 21, 2013 at 2:00pm at Flint Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Shane Kirby officiating. Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 2:00 pm an hour before the service, and other times at 1310 Maple Springs Church Road.
