Randy William Nelon, 61, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026 while at Missions Hospital, Asheville, North Carolina surrounded by his loving and devoted family. He was born to the late John Harle Nelon, Jr. and Catherine Odom Nelon in Polk County, North Carolina. He is also predeceased by his sister, Marlene McDowell; brothers, Flint Nelon and Kevin Nelon.

Left to cherish his memory are his spouse, Christine Nelon of the home; sons, Randy "R.W." Nelon II, Patrick Nelon and Nicholas "Nick" Nelon; brothers, John Nelon III and wife Becky; sister-in-laws Kim Nelon and Kelly Nelon; 6 nieces; 7 nephews.

Randy had a love for music, he grew up playing with his family in church. He was an all round family man that never met a stranger. He worked as a plumber for over 30 years. He was an avid outdoorsman. When he wasn't hunting and fishing he enjoyed being with his family and friends. May his legacy live on forever.

Celebration of Life Service will be held from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Sunday, July 12, 2026 at the Sunnyview Community House, 95 Coopers Gap Road, Mill Spring, North Carolina 28756 with Rev. Gibbs to speak at the beginning of the service.
