Ray "Razor" Hudgins, age 62, of Rutherfordton, died Monday, March 12, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, SC.
Born September 28, 1955 in Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Hubert Zeb Hudgins and Ruby Flynn Hudgins. Ray worked in maintenance for Gilkey Lumber Company for thirty-eight years and was of the Baptist faith. Ray was known as a simple man with a big heart for his family and for others. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed anything with Elvis Presley and watching westerns. Ray also had a special place in his heart for his pet dog, Gracie Anne. He was loved by many.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Angela Rae Hudgins and a brother, Calvin Hudgins.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of almost twenty-two years, Geneva M. Hudgins; two daughters, Jodi Mast and husband, Wendell and Katie Hudgins and husband, Chad; two sons, Barry Scott Hudgins and wife, Lisa and Chad Hudgins and wife, Katie all of Rutherfordton; one brother, Jack Hudgins and wife, Deb; six sisters, Pam Cogdell, Susie Craig, Polly Edwards (Brian), Bonnie Ledford (Rodney), Connie Harris (John) and Pattie Kellie (Glen). He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Brittany Hudgins (Chris), Amber Hudgins, Trent Mast, Noah Hudgins, Colt Mast, Adam Hudgins, Abigail Hudgins, JoLyn Mast, Jacob Hudgins, Brylee Hudgins and one great-granddaughter, Lyliah Rae Bell.
The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church with Reverend Leon Brown, Reverend Keith Stephenson and Reverend Mike Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Gilkey United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. prior to service time at the church.
