Raymond Cletis Forner, age 86 of Shelby, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Testa Family Hospice House in Kings Mountain.

He is survived by his children, Mr. Roger Forner of Shelby, NC, Mr. and Mrs. Don and Regina Forner Roberts of Shelby, NC, and Mr. and Mrs. Jason and Rene Forner Collins of Lincolnton, NC, three grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Joe and Mary Roberts of Gastonia, NC, Mr. Evan Roberts of Shelby, NC, and Mr. and Mrs. Will and Bradley Collins of Lawndale, NC, a great grandson McHenry Hank David Roberts, and numerous nieces and nephews. Raymond was also survived by a special friend and dedicated caregiver, Serena Bradley.

Born January 17, 1936 in Gaston County, NC, Raymond was the son of the late Joe Daniel Forner and Bertha Lou Lewis Forner and was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

Raymond worked and retired as a financial analyst from Celanese Corporation. He was a faithful member of Westview Baptist Church. Raymond enjoyed golfing, ping pong, shooting pool, playing cards, and spending time with his family and friends. Raymond was one of the most forgiving and humble kind of person one would ever meet. He was the kind of person that would bring a smile to your face and will be truly missed by those that knew him.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00pm Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel. A visitation will be held from 3:00 - 4:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
