Raymond Hardin Rice, age 85 ½, of Dallas, passed away Monday, August 3, 2026, at Robin Johnson House. Raymond was born January 4, 1941, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Raymond Dewey and Sarah Messer Rice.

Raymond was a veteran of the United States Marines. He was also a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. Raymond dedicated his life to serving others and had a genuine desire to help and care for those around him, especially his family. He was the owner of Rice Pest Control and loved his customers, and they loved him back. Raymond continued to serve others for as long as he was able because he truly enjoyed seeing his customers. He was a great provider and gave his family everything they needed. Raymond also enjoyed fishing and watching Star Trek and NCIS.

In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his brothers, James Rice, and Henry Rice; and sister, Della Davis.

Survivors include his wife, Sheila Marshall Messer Rice; children, Sandra Louise Eller (Edwin), Connie Burrell Jones (Stacey), Betty Sue Moore (Kenneth), and Raymond Joseph Rice (Samantha); 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Walnut Grove Baptist Church, with Pastor Chris Parker officiating. The doors will open at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Westview Gardens Cemetery.
