SHELBY- Reta "Jenell" England Blanton, 85, died Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Testa Family Hospice of Kings Mountain. Born in Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late William and Birdie Dalton England. Reta was a long time member of Pleasant City Church. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, including her beloved dog princess. Reta also enjoyed reading. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Blanton; brothers, Larry and Butch England; and sisters, Louise Ramsey, Wanda Tate and Diane Beam. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Borders of Shelby; son, Dennis Blanton and wife Lisa of Shelby; brother, Bobby England and wife Carolyn of Ellenboro; sister, Joyce Loveless of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Cody Borders and fiancé Pamela Anderson of Shelby, Leslie Kale and Mitchell Blanton; six great grandchildren, including special great grandson, Sylas Blanton. A memorial service will be held 2pm, Thursday, December, 10, 2020 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Gary Marburger officiating. The family will receive friend one hour prior to the service, at the Funeral Home. A private family burial will take place at Cleveland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Ave., #100, Charlotte, NC, 28207.
