Rev. Henry E. Nichols Jr.

On November 24, 2021, Rev. Henry E. Nichols Jr. Age 65, of Shelby NC was welcomed into his eternal heavenly home after an extended battle with a brain tumor. He was born on February 13, 1956, in Newport News, VA to Henry E Nichols Sr and Reba Maxine Rogers Nichols. He is preceded in death by his father, Henry Nichols Sr, sister Patricia Senters and brother-in-law, Scotty Senters, and nephew, Charles Boone.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia Morgan Nichols, three children, Daniel (Danyel) of Grover NC, Sherri Nichols of Shelby, NC, and Henry Nichols III (Ashley) of Forest City, NC. Grandchildren: Jessica Moss (Tyler), Jada Whisenant (Blake), Jordan Mayes, Savannah Nichols, Paige Nichols, Kaitlynn Nichols, Cassie Conard, Brianna Turney, Camryn Turney, Emily Turney Schaap (Caleb), and Henry Nichols IV, 3 great granddaughters with 1 more on the way. His Mother, Reba Maxine Nichols of Grover NC, sister Donna Barcus (Wayne) of Cherryville NC, In-laws Frank and Betty Morgan of Lattimore, Richard Morgan (Theresa) and Betty Keener (Paul) of Lattimore NC along with several very loved nieces and nephews.

Preacher Nichols was saved as a young boy and God called him into the ministry while still in high school. He graduated from Warwick High School in Newport News, VA in 1973. He graduated from Central Baptist Bible Institute, Hampton VA in 1976 and from Tennessee Temple University in 1979. He pastored Sharon Baptist Church in Newport News before moving to Shelby, NC in 1986. Preacher Henry started Victory Baptist Church in Lattimore NC in 1988 and continued as Pastor until 2011, when he resigned due to health reasons. Henry lived and loved to serve his Lord and Savior, his family and church family. He is now rejoicing with his family and friends who were there to meet him when he arrived in Heaven. But mostly he is worshipping and praising his King, the one who was born, died, and rose again to cover his sins and the sins of the world. If he could leave you with a message today, it would be to please ask forgiveness for your sins, believe that Jesus died and was raised from the dead for each of us, and accept Jesus into your heart today and have a personal relationship with Him. "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation" (Romans 10:10). Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved... (Acts 16:31). That would be his wish and prayer for each of us today. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Victory Baptist Church Youth /Camp fund or Missions fund.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Monday, November 29, 2021 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel.
