Rev. Jack Leavon Waters, Sr., 86, of Lawndale passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.



Jack was born on October 28, 1939 in Cleveland County and was a son to the late Rev. John L. Waters and Lois Wease Waters. He was retired after 38 years from PPG Industries. Jack served as a lay minister and loved to visit with people.



Jack is survived by loving wife of 65 years Phyllis Brackett Waters; a son, Jack Waters, Jr. and wife, Lisa of Lawndale; two sisters, Frieda Allen and husband Randy of Tryon and Brenda Wright and husband Ernest of Lake Norman; three grandchildren, Leah Willis, Cassie Lee, husband Brandon Lee, and Candie Waters, Fiancé Avery Shoup and two great-grandchildren, Tucker Willis and Ellie Shoup-Waters.



A Private Graveside Service will be held at Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston.
