Rev. Mitchell M. Pruitt, age 94, resident of 1552 Kelly Road, Mt. Holly, NC went to be with the Lord on December 28, 2012 at Gaston Memorial Hospital, Gastonia, NC. He was born in Greer, SC to the late William Perry Pruitt and Anna Heatherly Pruitt. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Etta Rae Hawkins Pruitt, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Rev. Pruitt was a minister for over 53 years. He retired from Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church, Kings Mtn. after serving for 40 years.
He was a graduate of Limestone College and attended Gardner-Webb College. He was a member of Alexis Baptist Church, Alexis, NC, served in the United States Army during World War II, Battle of the Bulge.

Sons: Mike Pruitt and wife Becky, Kings Mtn. NC
Don Pruitt and wife Rhonda, Hickory, NC
Doug Pruitt and wife Lynn, Kings Mtn. NC
Daughter: Pat Pruitt Thomas, Shelby, NC
11 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great Great Grandchildren.
FUNERAL SERVICE: Alexis Baptist Church, Tuesday, January 1, 2013 2:00 P.M.
Rev. Greg Neely, Rev. Sandy Marks, and Rev. Mickey Pruitt.
INTERMENT: Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina.
VISITATION: 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 1, 2013 prior to the service in the sanctuary of the church.
GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Tuesday, January 1, 2013, 4:00 P.M.
