Rev. Robert Gene Beason, 77, of Shelby, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at his home.

Born in Cleveland County, on September 25, 1945, he was the son of the late John "Bob" Robert Beason and Edna Wease Beason. He was retired from Dover Industries and was also a Baptist minister.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two sons, Bill Beason and Chris Beason.

He is survived by his wife of twenty-three years, Sherry Jean Smith Beason; son Bobby Beason and wife, Ellie of Shelby; daughter, Annette Smith and husband Steve of Shelby; stepson, Allen Smith and wife Sherry of Shelby; grandchildren, Jeremy Willis, John Beason, Jessica Beason, Emily Fordyce, Kelly Greene, Justin Beason, Tyler Beason, Abbie Beason, Robbie Smith, Rylee Smith, Cody Smith, Keeley Smith, Brock Smith, Brandon Smith, Blake Smith, Bradley Smith and Baylee Smith; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 11, 2023 , at 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm , at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Price officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the Mt Pleasant Baptist Church, Mooresboro, NC .
