Rev. Robert H. Bradley

Rev. Robert H. Bradley, age 77, of the Hicks Grove Community, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at his residence.

Robert was born Monday, June 19, 1944 in Rutherford County to the late Robert Talmadge Bradley and Avis Hines Bradley. He was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1962 and received an Associate's Degree from Fruitland Bible Institute in 2004. Robert was a dedicated servant of God and pastored several churches including two local churches, Mt. Harmony Baptist Church and First Broad Baptist Church in Bostic. He was an insurance agent for thirty-five years having worked for Life of Virginia and as a district manager for Liberty Life Insurance in Shelby and Hickory. Robert was an athlete and enjoyed anything that had to do with sports. He was an avid sports card collector. Robert will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. ("Well done thou good and faithful servant!")

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clark K. Bradley.

Left to cherish fond memories are his wife of fifty-seven years, Shirley McGuire Bradley; daughter, Crystal B. Tate (Travis); son, Rev. Robert "Kevin" Bradley (Teresa) all of the Hicks Grove Community; brothers, Rev. Bruce Bradley (Marilyn) of Mt. Holly and John R. Bradley (Brenda) of the Hicks Grove Community and a sister, Sharon Waters (Rev. Chester Waters) of Dallas, NC. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jessica Searcy (Ryan), Nathan Lowe, Casey Matheney (Kyle), Alex Tate, Megan Evans (Richard), Dylan Tate (Sylvia) and Autumn Brown (Drew); thirteen great-grandchildren, Bradleigh Searcy, Hallie Mae Bradley, Chloe Lowe, Ty Searcy, Sawyer Matheney, Kaybee Matheney, Sully Matheney, Hank Bradley, Zander Brown, Zaelyn Brown, Tucker Brown (Madison), Hunter Brown and Lily Evans.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 20th at the First Broad Baptist Church with Rev. Chester Waters, Rev. Raymond Byrd, Rev. Charles Battle and Rev. Steve Chastain officiating. A private interment will take place at the Bradley Family Cemetery after the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Wednesday at Harrelson Funeral Home.
