Rhonda Grey Washburn, age 68, of Shelby, passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, May 27, 2025 at Atrium Health - Cleveland.

Born on April 7, 1957 in Harnett County, NC and raised in Cleveland County, NC, she was the youngest child of the late Gordon R. and Shirley H. Washburn. Rhonda was a graduate of Crest High School in Boiling Springs, NC and the Cabarrus Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Concord, NC. She was a loving sister, proud aunt and fun-loving friend. Rhonda was a Registered Nurse for over 30 years at Cleveland Regional Medical Center, Kings Mountain Memorial Hospital and Hospice Cleveland County where she touched many lives with her compassionate care and joyful personality.

Rhonda is survived by her sister, Brenda W. Foster and husband, Andy; her brother, Rick G. Washburn and wife, Lisa; nephews, Paul Foster and fiancée, Carole Jolley, Tim Foster and wife, Amy; niece, Dr. Jenna Washburn; great niece, Sophie Foster and great nephew, Jaiden Foster.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5th at 11:00am at Cecil Burton Funeral Home and burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
