Richard "Ace" Philbeck, age 64, of Ellenboro, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 at his home.

He was the son to the late Morris and Betty Arrowood Philbeck and a native of Mecklenburg County. Ace was an avid musician and a renowned guitar player who had played with Patty Lovelace, George Hatcher Band and many other bands.

He is survived by his wife Deborah Lynn Philbeck, two daughters; Megan Philbeck (Thomas Waters) and Macy Murray, one sister Teresa Gay Drewery (Ricky), grandchildren; Georgia Delaney Murray and Matthew Clark Murray, step children; Jennifer Cherisse Davis and Tyler Yates Thompson, step grandchildren; Ezra Stacey, Veda Stacey, Lucas Ayers and Galaxy Thompson. He is also survived by Maw Maw Suzanne, Ed, Bobby and Michelle.

A Celebration of Life service will be 1pm Friday, January 29, 2021 at Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside Chapel with Reverend Robert Crawford officiating.
