Richard Orron Walker, born February 17, 1943 in Wilmington, NC went to his heavenly home on June 17, 2019. He was the son of the late Foy J. Walker and Patsy Turner Walker. Richard retired from NC Department of Corrections. He was a ham radio operator for many years with his call sign being KB4LTZ. One of his hobbies was to shoot bows for fun and in tournaments. His favorite hobby was playing guitar at the Todd General Store with many friends on Friday nights.

Richard is survived by his wife of 55 years, Priscilla Brooks Walker. He has one sister, Jane Rogers of Mooresville, NC. He has two sons, Matt Walker and wife Christine B. Walker of Boiling Springs, NC; and Lee Walker and wife Starr W. Walker of Shelby, NC. He has four grandchildren, Zachary, Madison, Javan, and Jaden Walker. He also has many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday June 23, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the sanctuary of Double Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Fryer officiating. The family will receive friends immediately after the service.
