Richard "Rick Rick" Goforth, age 43, of Forest City, died Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at his residence.

Richard was born April 16, 1976 in Rutherford County and was a graduate of East Rutherford High School, class of 1994. He worked as a commercial painter for Ultra Coat Manufacturing and for Touchstone Fine Cabinetry. Richard was a member of Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church. He enjoyed working on cars and trading. Richard always wanted to put a smile on everyone's face.

Richard was preceded in death by a brother Johnny Fowler and sister Kathy Goforth Fowler.

Those left to cherish his memory include his father Robert Goforth (Ann) of Forest City; mother, Nancy Morrow Waters of Cherryville; his wife, Carol Ann Goforth of Rutherfordton; four children, Kelsie Kuhl of Forest City, Ryan Kuhl of Rutherfordton, Kaitlyn Yirin and Kaleb Yirin; two grandchildren, Adrian Kuhl and Ella Kuhl; two sisters, Heather Goforth of Forest City, and Tasha Kegley (Andrew) of Spindale; six brothers, Johnathon Goforth (Teri) of Mooresboro, Jason Goforth of Cherryville, Darrell Goforth (Barbie) of Cherryville, David Hughes of Forest City, Michael Hughes of Forest City and William Henderson of Marion. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2020 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Daniel Crawford officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to Harrelson Funeral Home, 1251 US Hwy 221A, Forest City, NC 28043 to help defray funeral costs.
