Richard "Steve" Washburn

KINGS MOUNTAIN-Richard "Steve" Washburn, 51, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, at Testa Hospice House in Kings Mountain. A native of Cleveland County, he is the son of Malinda Stroud Washburn of Shelby, and the late Carl Washburn. Steve served in the Marines, worked and enjoyed his 20 years at Celanese, and had a love of golf.

PRECEDED: In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Ryan Washburn.

SURVIVED: In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 13 years, Kelly Beason Washburn, of the home; sons, Evan Washburn, Adam Beason, Ethan Washburn, and Landon Washburn, all of Kings Mountain; brothers, Jeff Mode of Kings Mountain, and Tim Washburn and wife Tina of Mooresboro; Father and Mother-in-law, Ronnie and Kay Beason of Kings Mountain; brother-in-law, Mitchel Beason and wife Melissa of Fla.; nieces and nephews, Nick Washburn and wife Jessica, Natasha Coan and husband Dennis, Caitlyn Miller and husband Jered, Tyler, Chandler and Avery Beason.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Wednesday, 5-6:30pm, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Kings Mountain.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 2pm, Thursday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel of Kings Mountain, with military honor's.

OFFICIATING: Dr. B. Irvin Price will officiate

BURIAL: A private family burial will be held in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery
