Rickie Jackson, age 55, died Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Carolina's Healthcare System Cleveland. Born April 27, 1962 he was the son of the late Marvin Leroy Jackson and wife Marva Jane Killam Jackson. Rickie served in the U.S Marine Corps with the HMX1-Night Hawk Unit that was responsible for Marine One, the presidential helicopter. He worked for 27 years as a technician for American Airlines. Ricky thoroughly enjoyed motocross, 4-wheeling as well as fishing and white water canoeing. He was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church where he served on the property committee and helped with the youth.

In addition to his parents, Rickie was preceded in death by his sister Teresa Jackson and his grandmother Rose Mary Killam.

Rickie is survived by his wife Pam and two children, daughter, Bailey Jackson and son Zachary Jackson all of Shelby; parents-in-law, Joe Cherry and wife Crickett of Shelby and brother-in- law, Mike Cherry and wife Angela of Mebane as well as a nephew Kalin Massey.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church, with Rev. Christina Auch officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park with full military honors.
