Ricky Gene Franklin, 63, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023 while at his home. A native of Cleveland County, he was born to the late Paul Franklin, Jr. and Margaret Barnett Franklin. He is also predeceased by a brother, Jimmy Franklin.

Left behind to cherish his memories are his daughters, Patricia Murphy (Scott Murphy) and Holly Aguero; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Amariah Jordan, Sheldon Pratt, Kaysen Jordan, Reya Jordan, Emma Murphy, Ivy Murphy, Khloe Aguero, Sydney Aguero and Jeremiah Aguero; siblings, sister, Judy Barker (Adam Barker), brother, Dennis Franklin (Teresa Franklin), sister, Pam Franklin (Jimmy Hoppes), and sister, Kim Page (Robert Page); nieces and nephews, Mike Atkins (Stacie Atkins), Misty Emery (Billy Guffey), Chasity Albert (Gordon Albert), Clint Franklin and Kelsey Terry.

Ricky was a man who loved the world and loved everybody. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and loved talking about cars. He will remain in our hearts forever. "Cowboy loves you".

Services will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1155 Marys Grove Church Road, Cherryville, NC 28021. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery, 412 W. Sumter Street, Shelby, NC 28150.
