GASTONIA - Ricky Norman Korn, 60, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Newton, NC to Emma Louise K. Groves and the late Billy Norman Korn. He is also predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Rev. William Clifton Eggers and wife Josephine Newton Eggers; paternal grandparents, Walter Korn and wife, Floy Korn.

Ricky leaves behind to cherish his memories his mother; three sisters, Melissa McSwain and husband, Mark, Deborah B. Rucker and husband, Steve and Charlene Groves and husband, David. He was proud, especially close and helped take care of his nephew, Logan McSwain and loved him as if he was his own child. He was a loving uncle to Shannon Barnhill, Brad Barnhill, Austin Cantrell, Jimmy-Lee Stamey, Heather Mace and Justyn Stamey. He was a loving great-uncle to his great-nieces, Savannah Barnhill, Morgan Barnhill, Taylor Barnhill, Haley-Jo Cody, Abby Cody, Madlyn Stamey and Emma Mace; great-nephews, Lucas Cody and Raymond Mace.

He worked as a Theater Manager for a number of years. He was a wonderful son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and great-uncle. Ricky will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM at Carpenter-Porter Chapel, 1100 East Main Street, Cherryville, NC 28021 on Monday, May 27, 2019 with Rev. Don Capell officiating.
