Rita “Maw Maw Kay” Heffner

SHELBY – Mrs. Rita “Maw Maw Kay” Heffner, 67, of 307 Clegg St., died Sat., Mar. 30, 2013 at her home.  A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Ruby Bridges Elliot.  She worked many years as a L.P.N., later retiring from One Stop in Patterson Springs after 12 years. 

 

PRECEDED:  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Heffner; and granddaughter, Brittany Lovelace.

 

SURVIVED:  She is survived by her two daughters, Melanie Henson of the home, and Rita Lovelace of Shelby; 10 grandchildren, Ashley and Tommy Hendricks, Hunter Henson, Brittney Curtis, Hanna Harry, Sarah Evans, all of Shelby, Chasity Phillips of Mooresboro, Amber Yost of Kannapolis, Kassie Daszkiewicz of Wisconsin, and Kylie Pruitt of Charlotte; 11 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Sandy Charles, Diane Evans, and Sybil Maddox.

 

SERVICES:  2PM, Tuesday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel

 

VISITATION:  The family will receive friends Tuesday, 12:30-2PM, at the funeral home, and other times at her home.

BURIAL:   Cleveland Memorial Park
