Rita Poole Barr, 73, passed away on January 11, 2022 at Atrium Healthcare Shelby. A native of Cleveland Co., she was born to the late Howard and Aileen Willis Poole. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Joyce Krumnow and brothers Walter and Steve Poole. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years Robert "Bobby" Barr, Sr. of the home, stepsons Robby Barr and Rodney Barr and wife Sandy, both of Shelby, daughter's Tammy Orebaugh and husband Davis of Cary and Lyndsey Barr and companion Tim Skidmore of Shelby, 6 grandchildren Tate, Gage, Logan, Walt, Samantha and Lucas and sister Vickie Bingham and husband Dennis of Fallston.

Rita was a member of Pleasant City Baptist Church. She was the office manager for 25 years at Oakie's Tires in Shelby, an avid gardener, loved playing softball where she was affectionately known as "Rita Rabbit Barr", and loved all of her animals, several which she had rescued. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed by all.

A funeral service will be held on Friday January 14, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park. Dr Dennis D. Bingham, officiating.
