Robert "Bob" Banks McClain, Jr, age 80, died Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Carolinas Medical Center, North East in Concord. Born in Cleveland County on October 12, 1937, he was the son of the late Robert Banks and Grace Simmons McClain. Bob was a member of Hoyle Memorial United Methodist Church. He made his career at Fluor Daniels Construction where he worked as an engineer and retired in 2000. Bob was an avid sports fan and loved racing. In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Brooks McClain and a sister, Elizabeth "Lib" Wright.

Bob is survived by four children, Benny McClain and wife Mary of Gold Hill, Calvin Humphries and wife Marlene of Concord, David Myron Dover of Salisbury, and LuJuan Dover of Boiling Springs, and; a sister, Margaret Moore and husband Bob of Gastonia; a brother-in-law, Henry Wright of Rock Hill SC; 8 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandson

Graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Cleveland Memorial Park with Rev. Mark Moore officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
