Robert "Bob" London Davis II

Robert "Bob" London Davis II, age 64, passed away due to COVID-19 on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Atrium Health-Cleveland.

Born in Cleveland County on June 16, 1956 he was the son of the late Robert L. Davis and Marie Dinkins Davis. He was the Executive Director of the Transportation Administration of Cleveland County for the last ten years. He was a member of Shelby Presbyterian Church where he was a former Deacon. Bob was a dedicated member of the Shelby Breakfast Rotary Club since 2012. He was a Past President and served as the Club Administrator and Program Coordinator longer than anyone. Bob was recognized by the District as a Distinguished Rotarian and was a Paul Harris Fellow. Bob will always be remembered as the founder of the Breakfast Rotary Club Chili Cookoff. His optimism and willingness to do whatever was needed for the Club will not be forgotten by his fellow Rotary family. In addition to his time with TACC, he was also involved with many community organizations, including; North Carolina Public Transportation Administration Board of Directors, Community Prosperity Committee, Access, the Senior Centers in both Kings Mountain and Shelby, the Alliance for Health, the Health Care Foundation of Cleveland County, Foothills Farmers Market, Partners Behavioral Health, Partnership for Community Prosperity, the Abuse Prevention Council and the Metropolitan Planning Organization of Lincoln, Gaston, and Cleveland Counties. Bob was also a basketball coach across many age groups and was a die-hard Clemson fan.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Whitney Regatta Davis

Bob is survived by his wife 32 years, Wendi Morrison Davis, two sons; Hobie Davis and Cutter Davis who are both attending UNCC, as well as one sister, Rebecca Devens and husband Tim and one brother, John Ronald Davis both of Myrtle Beach as well as many loving nieces and nephews who adored him.

Bob's family will receive friends on Saturday, January 30, 2021 in the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory from 1pm until 3 pm. Attendees are encouraged to wear Clemson attire.

Wendi, Hobie and Cutter would like to thank the staff of Atrium Health, especially the COVID floor, for the kind care and concern they gave Bob and his family during this time.

It is requested that those in attendance wear face coverings and practice social distancing.

In lieu of flowers, it has been requested that a donation be made to a GoFundMe account established by friends of the family and the Shelby Breakfast Rotary Club to the benefit of Bob's family.
