Robert Franklin Blanton, born on March 16, 1948, in Kings Mountain, NC, to the late Virgil Green Blanton and Kathryn Leigh Blanton, peacefully passed away on September 17, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Blanton, and his father-in-law, Walter Cooke, and mother-in-law, Betty Cooke.

A devoted husband, father, and "Grand Paw," Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah Cooke Blanton, and their children, Seann Blanton (Amy) and Julie Lookadoo (Brad). He cherished his grandsons: John Wilson, Jesse Wilson, Grant Blanton, Tyler Haeck, and Jim Lookadoo, as well as his great-grandchildren: Kane Wilson, Kalli Wilson, Colton Haeck, McKenzie Haeck, and Declan Lookadoo. He also leaves behind Jina and Robbie Shaffer, Brian and Kay Cooke, several nieces and nephews, and a special nephew, Dwayne Blanton. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to their grandson John for his unwavering support and to Kane and Kalli for the joy they brought during their visits.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Carolina Caring Hospice for their compassionate care over the past three years and five months, especially to Kelly A., Penny L., and Angela W.

A celebration of Robert's life will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home, with Pastor Steve Smith officiating. Friends and family are invited to gather following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Forest Lake Baptist Church and Carolina Caring Hospice.
