Robert Gene Kimble, 74, of Shelby, NC passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby.

He was born on September 14, 1949 in Cleveland County, NC to the late John Les Kimble and Agnes Love Kimble.

Robert was a retired employee of Wal-Mart. He was a member of Focus Missionary Baptist Church in Shelby. He was a devoted husband to his wife and a devoted father to his daughters. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching westerns and was an avid Seattle Seahawks fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his aunt who reared him, Sarah Davis; a brother, Larry Kimble; and his special beloved pet dog, Jasmine.

He leaves to cherish his memory to his wife, Robin A. Kimble; daughters, Felicia White of Charlotte, NC, Rhonda Kimble Hillman (Zacc) of Grover, NC and San' Twan Denise Wright-Hairston (James, Jr.) of Charlotte; brothers, J. D. Kimble (Glenda) whom he was especially close to and Sam Kimble (Linda) both of Shelby; a sister, Gloria Jean Kimble of Kings Mountain, NC; grandchildren, Chalyn Kimble, Zye'lon Kimble, Ja'Qylan Kimble, Zarius Hillman, (Amarria Byrd Hillman), Christian Blakney, Chason Cowins and Ciana Hairston; special cousins, Mary Ann Perkins and John Perkins and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 2:00 PM at S. T. Enloe Memorial Chapel. Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 2:00 PM on Tuesday and other times at 111 Dellinger Rd. Shelby.
