Robert Lee Hylemon, 91, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025, at White Oak Manor in Shelby, NC. Born in Burnsville, NC, on June 4, 1933, he was the son of the late Robert W. and Edna Burton Hylemon. Bob served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert "Bobby" Hylemon; four brothers; and two sisters.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 18 years, Hilda Fortenberry Hylemon; daughter, Teresa Hylemon; sons, CW5 (Retired Army) Jeff Hylemon (Vickie) and Creig Hylemon; stepson, Brian Fortenbury; and very special friend and grandson, Danny Love. He is also survived by his grandchildren: David Hylemon, Harley Gillin, Megan Mitnaul, Jeramy Hylemon, Thomas Hylemon, and Tanya Hylemon; 20 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

The family would like to give a special thank you to all the caring staff at White Oak Manor in Shelby.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at Eastside Baptist Church with Pastor Dale Byrd officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary.
