Robert Lee Leverett, Sr., age 81, died Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Willow Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center.
Robert was born June 24, 1937 in Rutherford County to the late Timmons Leverett and Florence Davis Leverett. He worked for Stonecutter Mill for forty-five years and as a tractor driver for a local sawmill. Robert enjoyed hunting and shooting pool. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-three years, Carol Robbins Leverett; son, Robert Lee Leverett, Jr.; brother, Earl Timmons Leverett, Jr.; sister, Frances Robbins and brother-in-law, Barney S. Robbins.
Those left to treasure his memory include his daughter, Kim Mode and husband, Rodney of Rutherfordton; three grandchildren, Tony Belue (Victoria), Jennifer Glynn (Eric) and Wes Ray Leverett; five great-grandchildren, Kadience Brook, Ethan Fowler, Max Ryan Belue, Ava Caroline Belue and Lennox Glynn.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Bob Philbeck and Reverend Matt Mills officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
