Robert Wayne Brackett, 72, of Shelby, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Atrium Health - Cleveland, Shelby.

Born in Cleveland County, on April 13, 1950, he was a son of the late Ambrose Brackett and Frances Lorena Blanton Brackett. He was retired from Curtis Wright and was a member of Northside Baptist Church. He also served in the US Marines during the Vietnam Era.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Wanda Melton and one brother-in-law, Gerald Short.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Rebecca Faye Condrey Brackett; one son, Steven Dwayne Brackett and wife Leanne of Shelby; one daughter, Jaime Michelle Brackett Gipson and husband Marty Dawson of Shelby; one brother, Jerry Brackett and wife Laura of Mooresboro; one sister, Linda Diann Short of Henrietta and five grandchildren, Steven Robert Brackett, Lee Eubanks, Randy Eubanks, Amber Gipson and Brent Gipson.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Northside Baptist Church.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 11:00 am at Northside Baptist Church with the Rev. Neal Efird officiating.

The burial will be private.
