Rodney "Rod" William Reedy

Rodney "Rod" William Reedy, (69) of Ellenboro went to be with the Lord April 3, 2022 at Cleveland Memorial Hospital. Rod was known for his workmanship as a skilled welder and equipment mechanic. He retired after twenty-seven years of service from Parton Lumber Company. He was a devoted husband and loving father and will be missed by all.

He was born May 23, 1953, in Pratt, Kansas, to the late Albert William Reedy and Wilma Ann Reedy. Rod was preceded in death by his older brother Ronald Parker Reedy. Rod is survived by his loving wife of seventeen years, Norma Jean Reedy, his brother Richard Raymond Reedy and his wife Judy of Oklahoma. Rod had one son Rev. Eric D. Reedy and wife Michelle of Polk Co., and three daughters Jamie Lynn Starnes and her husband, Jimmy of Rutherfordton. Pamela Phillips and Gary of Forest City and Beth Conner of Forest City. He is also survived by grandchildren Mathew Reedy and (Kaylie) Kelsey Reedy and (Fiancé Bryson Love), Kristan Reedy. Jessie Grubbs and (Devon), Shane Campbell, Layla Campbell and Jaydha Campbell. Also survived by two great grandchildren, Alice Grubbs and Annabelle Reedy. Rod was a stepper; his favorite saying was "aint no step for a stepper".

A funeral service is planned for Friday April 8, 2022 at 2PM at Mountain View Baptist Church in Rutherfordton. Mr. Reedy will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday April 7, 2022 from 6PM until 8PM at Crowe's Mortuary.
