Rodney Skyler Deaton, age 25 of Shelby, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022.

Born December 19, 1996 in Cleveland County, Skyler was the son of Lisa Deaton Porter Hendrick and Terry Scott Hendrick. He is also survived by a brother, Jonathan Blake Deaton and a sister, Baylee Nicole Hendrick, both of Shelby, NC, a niece, Jurnee Deaton of Shelby, NC, two uncles, Darren Porter and wife Chrissie of Mooresboro, NC, and Chris Deaton and wife Shelly of Shelby, NC, and four cousins, Samantha, Savannah, Summer, and Dawson. Skyler is also survived by his grandparents, James and Mary Porter of Mooresboro, NC, and Steve Deaton of Shelby, NC. Skyler was preceded in death by his father, Rodney Steve Deaton.

Skyler was an avid motocross racer. He enjoyed life and spending time with his family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, April 22, 2022 at Cleveland Funeral Services conducted by Rev. Keith Dixon. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
