Roger Dale Brady, 73, of Shelby, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Carolina Medical Center, Charlotte.

Born in Cleveland County, on March 4, 1950, he was a son of the late Manuel Earl Brady and Hattie Lelar Johnson Brady. He was retired from Stroup Nursery, but was also a self employed mechanic. Roger was always on the move enjoying a good find at a trade lot or yard sale. Though his favorite job was being Pawpaw to his seven beautiful granddaughters. He was also a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Kay W. Brady; son, Rodney Brady and wife Hayley of Shelby; daughter, Mandy Best and husband Brad of Bessemer City; brother, Mike Brady of Shelby; two sisters, Judy Bumgardner of Polkville and Teresa McFarland of Casar; seven grandchildren, Marley Brady, Lilley Brady, Addaley Brady, Brynnley Brady, Avie Best, Kelsey Best and Kailey Best.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 1, 2023, from 9:30 am to 10:45 am, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, at 11:00 am at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Devine, Rev. Jimmy Black and Rev. Toby Bird officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery
