Roger David Ledford, age 61, of Forest City, NC, died January 1, 2013 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Roger was born June 22, 1951 in Cleveland County, NC to the late J.C. Ledford and Margaret Campbell Ledford. He worked for Diversco Industries for over 30 years and was a member of Gantt’s Grove Baptist Church. He was had a passion for the guitar and was a singer/songwriter. Beyond his enjoyment of music was his love for the Lord.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Joel David Ledford and a sister, Barbara Putnam Winn.
Left to cherish his memory are two sons, Chris Ledford of Shelby, SC and Larry Ledford and wife, Kim of Ellenboro; Gladys Ledford and daughter, Amber Michelle Ledford of the home; three sisters, Patricia Hudson and husband, Kenneth of Lawndale, NC, Betty Mason of Ellenboro and Joyce Griffin and husband, Scott of Boiling Springs, NC. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; special friends, Scott Griffin, Rein Hollifield, Wayne Hill, and Wayne Toney and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Wayne Toney officiating. Interment will follow in Eternal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
