Roger Heusinkveld
Roger Heusinkveld, age 77, of Forest City, died Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born November 11, 1938 in Morrison, Illinois, he was a son to the late Clarence R. Heusinkveld and Rena Akker Heusinkveld. Roger was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served two tours of duty during the Vietnam War. He worked for Fieldcrest Mills for many years and Key Largo convenience store for several years. He was a faithful member of Chase Baptist Church and was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans #25 and served as a volunteer for the Cliffside Fire Department. He enjoyed gospel singing, fishing and hunting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Saine Heusinkveld.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah M. Stowe and companion, Mike Rudd and Jennifer Lee all of Ellenboro; two sons, Jeffrey A. Heusinkveld and Darrell D. Heusinkveld both of Forest City; sister, Barbara Phillips of Naples, Florida; two brothers, Harvey J. Heusinkveld of The Villages, Florida and Reverend Richard K. Heusinkveld of Lansing, Michigan. He is also survived by step-daughter, Francis C. Johnson and husband, John of Forest City; three step-sons, Rickey Hester and wife, Lavonne, Eric Hester and wife, Christy all of Forest City and Sammy Hester and wife, Mim of Mooresboro; twenty-three grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Chase Baptist Church with Reverend Scott Butler officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with military honors being accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
