Roger Kendrick was a faithful and loving husband and father. Roger was a kid at heart and enjoyed playtime with his grandchildren. He was always up for anything as long as his grandchildren were happy. From tea parties to tadpoles, to tents and riding tractors, time spent with "Papaw" was always fun. Roger was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and member of numerous committees. Roger worked and retired as a supervisor after 31 years of service from Hoechst Celanese Corporation. Because of Roger's strong work ethic, he continued to farm and supported the startup of Shelby Pools. Throughout his life, he was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish, and was an expert marksman. Roger was a wise and humble mentor. He also enjoyed restoring classic cars, collecting John Deere tractors, and was the neighborhood fix-it-man. In fact, his motto was "If man made it, I can fix it."
