FOREST CITY - Roger Steve Winn, 60, of Selvey Road, Forest City, died on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. A native of Rutherford County, he was born on March 15, 1953, a son of the late Clyde and Valorie Holt Winn. He was employed with Duke Energy - Cliffside Steam Station where he was the Senior Buyer for the Carolina West Purchasing Group. He was a forty year member and current Chief of the Rutherford County Rescue and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Ronnie Winn and one grandchild, Christopher Brian Sutton. He is survived by his wife, Wanda White Winn; his son, Steven Edward Winn and wife Jessica of Cliffside; his daughters, Patti Winn of Ellenboro and Christy Rollins and husband Kevin of Forest City; his grandchildren, Jessica Paige Winn, Thomas Winn, Nicholas Randall, Elizabeth Randall, and Shana Briscoe; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ted and Jessie White; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Ricky and Carolyn Cantrell, Phil and Tammy Luckadoo, Max and Ann Doggett and Ted and Mickey White; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Mr. Winn will be held at 4:00pm on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Liberty Baptist Church with Pastor Owen Duncan and Max Doggett officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Monday, March 25, 2013 at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service and other times at the home of Ted and Jessie White, 850 Tanners Grove Road, Forest City, NC 28043.
