Roger Wayne Turner

Roger Wayne Turner, 72, Lawndale, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at his home.

Born in Cleveland County on December 1, 1950, he was a son of the late James Asberry Turner and Lucy Mae Hutchins Turner. He was the owner and operator of Roger Turner Plumbing and a member of Kistlers United Methodist Church. Roger also served in the US Army in the 82 Airborne Power Troopers during the Vietnam Era.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Pauline Lowery Turner.

He is survived by his son Mitchell Wayne Turner and wife Leah of Lawndale; stepson, David Wayne Birch of Shelby; two brothers, Charles Turner and wife Debbie of Hollis and Bryan Turner and wife Carol of Lawndale; two grandchildren, Randy Birch and wife Summer and Austin Birch; special friend, Barbara Pruett; two great grandchildren, Peyton and Tegan; four nephews and families, Daniel Turner and wife, Brandi and children, Reagan & Kendyl; Michael Turner and wife Megan and children, Case & Judson, Wade McNeilly and Julie and daughter, Jeri; Paul McNeilly and son Trent;

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 23, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

The funeral will be held on Thursday at 2:00 PM in the Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Kilby officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the Kistlers United Methodist Church Cemetery with military graveside rites.
