Ronald "Bo" Hugh Hawkins, 70, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Rutherford Regional Medical. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of Retta Humphries Hawkins and the late June Samuel Hawkins. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Polkville. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in the Vietnam Conflict.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a step son, Clifford Guffey.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Jackson Hawkins of the home; one son, Ronnie Dean Hawkins of Cliffside, one step-son, Beauford Guffey, Jr. and wife Kathy of Forest City; two daughters, Emma Wyatt of Mooresboro, Lucretia Roper of Shelby; one brother, Robert Hawkins and wife Linda of Forest City; one sister, June Greene and husband Ricky of Forest City; four grandchildren; several great and great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday, 1-2 p.m. at Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside and other times at his home.

A funeral service will be held Monday, 2 p.m. in the chapel of Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside.

Rev. Scott Holland will officiate.

Interment will be at Cliffside Cemetery with Military Honors.
