Ronald Eugene Gillespie, Sr. went home to be with his Heavenly Father on November 4, 2021 at the age of 75.

Born in Gaston County, NC to the late William and Louise Gillespie on March 14, 1946, he was a graduate of Kings Mountain High School and a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church in Blacksburg, SC. He retired from Fiber Industries after 38 years of service. He served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher and lay minister for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Donna; and a brother, Richard. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Phyllis Hord Gillespie; brother, Larry Gillespie; sister, Glenda Durham; son, Eugene Gillespie and his wife Melissa; son, Phillip Gillespie and his wife Traci; daughter, Michelle Goodson and her husband Kent; and five Grandboys, Gibson Gillespie (wife Anna), William, Blanton, Bailey and Connor.

A Memorial Service will be held at Rock Springs Baptist Church on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at 2 p.m, officiated by Pastor Jody McGaha. The family will receive friends at the church, following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Paving Fund of Rock Springs Baptist Church, 1184 Rock Springs Road, Blacksburg, SC 29702.
