Rosanne Surrett
Rosanne Surrett, 80, went to be with the Lord Saturday March 30, 2024 at her home.
Born: April 20, 1943, Boone, lowa. Grew up in Perry and Cedar Rapids, lowa. Accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at eight years of age. Graduated from Washington High School, Cedar Rapids, IA, 1961. Graduated magna cum laude from Pillsbury Baptist Bible College, Owatonna, MN, 1965. Married Charles Surrett on July 3, 1965. Set a wonderful example as wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Served alongside her husband in his pastoral ministry in many aspects of the work, in Minnesota, Oklahoma, Michigan, Indiana, and North Carolina. Taught speech and a ladies' class for about 25 years at Ambassador Baptist College, in Lattimore, NC Preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Marjorie Van Pelt, and her sister,Romanza Van Pelt Griffin. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Charles Surrett of the home, brothers Steven Van Pelt and John Van Pelt, as well asfive children, twenty grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Children and their spouses: Bryan and Cari Surrett, Mato Grosso, Brazil; Douglas and Kelly Surrett, Raleigh, NC; Dwayne and Susan Simpson, Monroe, NC; Jeremy and Sherry Herbert, Higginsville, MO; and Peter and Lisa Hempstead, Ocala, FL Grandchildren: Alyssa Surrett, Kayla Surrett, Kelsey Surrett, Sabrina Surrett, Gregory Surrett, Nicholas Surrett, Zachary Surrett, Benjamin Surrett, Lindsey Surrett Thornton, Joshua Surrett, Colten Farineli, Chase Farineli, Cierra Farinelli, Caden Farinelli, Alexis Herbert, Amelia Hertbert, Avery Herbert, Ashlynn Herbert Kuzmic, Avalon Hempstead, and George Hempstead Visitation will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, 1:30-3:00 PM EDT, on Thursday, April 4, and the funeral will begin at the church at 3:00 PM on that same day. burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park The funeral service will be live-streamed at ebckingsmountain.com. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that friends consider a memorial gift to Ambassador Baptist College, Lattimore, NC.
