Rose Matheny, age 47, of Bostic, NC, died Monday, January 14, 2019 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Rose was born on February 24, 1971 in Cleveland County, and was a daughter to the late Bobby Putnam and Sieglinde L. Putnam. She was a graduate of Crest High School, class of 1989 and worked ten years for Cone Mills-Cliffside. She most recently worked in the shipping department at Parker-Hannifin and had been there for eighteen years. Rose was a faithful member of Grace Chapel Foursquare Church where she served on the Church Council, worked in the nursery and was a greeter. She also prepared food for bereaving families and taught children's classes. Rose enjoyed outdoor activities such as camping, hiking and yard work. She also loved taking trips to the beach, but her life's priority and love was taking care of Bobby and Trent.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of eighteen years, Bobby K. Matheny; son, Trent Dale Matheny of the home; father, Gerald Whisnant of Shelby; sister, Sandra Putnam of Boiling Springs, NC; father and mother in-law, Bill and Helen Matheny of Forest City; sister-in-law, Sheila Womack (Terry) of Forest City and a nephew, Mason Womack of Mooresville, NC.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Grace Chapel Foursquare Church with Reverend Ricky Poteat officiating. Interment will follow in Sandy Run Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
