Cherryville - Mr. Roy Calvin Pruette, 82, passed away on Friday, April 19,
2019 at Atrium Health - Lincoln.

Mr. Pruette was born in Catawba County, NC on March 24, 1937 a son of the
late Horace Pruette and Mary Ethel Fulbright Pruette. He was retired as a
dock worker from Carolina Freight Carriers Corporation in Cherryville after
30 years of service. Mr. Pruette was a member of the First Baptist Church
in Cherryville and the William B. "Dub" Beam Sunday School class and also
served for several years as custodian of First United Methodist Church in
Cherryville.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Grady
and Darell Pruette and three sisters, Alda Mae Lail, Lona Willis and Dosha
Houser.

Survivors include two sons, Scott Pruett and wife Tammy of Cherryville; Jeff
Pruett and wife Jennifer of Gastonia; a daughter, Pam Lipford and husband
Todd of Charlotte; five grandchildren, Devin Lipford, Ashley Lipford, Hannah
Lipford, Tyler Pruett and Emma Pruett; one great granddaughter, Ava Horne;
one brother, Rev. Carrell Pruette (Gwen) of Vale and two sisters, Shirley
Pruette (George) of Hickory and Clara Glenn (Dale) of Valdese.

Visitation will be from 12:45PM to 1:45PM on Monday, April 22, 2019 at
Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, April 22, 2019 at
Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Vince Hefner and Rev.
Carrell Pruette officiating.

Burial will be in City Memorial Cemetery in Cherryville.
