Roy Hankins passed away on September 21, 2023, at the age of 92.

He grew up in Terra Haute, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Opal Hankins and his sister, Barbara Ann. He joined the U.S. Airforce and traveled the world. Through his travels he met his first wife, Alice, in Pennsylvania and together they raised six children. Once Roy retired as a Master Sargent, the family moved back to Pennsylvania and Roy started a second career working for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Liquor Control Board. When Roy married his second wife, Sandra, her four children became a very important part of his life and he loved them as his own. After retiring as a senior executive, managing stores throughout central Pennsylvania, they started a new chapter in their lives in Beauford, SC. Roy got to fulfill his dream of living near the ocean. He went fishing, boating, and loved walking his little dog Buddy on the golf course behind their house. He became a member of the Shellpoint Baptist Church and found his true passion serving as a Deacon of the church. In the past year they moved to Terra Bella in Shelby, NC. He made a lot of friends there, he enjoyed walking and participating in their activities. He is survived by his wife, Sandra, all the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who will all miss him dearly.
