COLUMBUS -- Roy Pinkney Lail, 74, of Shelby, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2018 at home.
The son of the late Marvin L. and Eva Mae Ledford Lail, Mr.Lail was born on "D-Day" June 6, 1944, and grew up in the Lily Mill community, where he later worked. He attended church at the Chapel of Christ.
With much family nearby, the Lail's have continued the tradition of their yearly family gatherings, sharing memories and great food.
Preceding him in death were an infant brother, Lloyd, and a sister, Marilyn.
Survivors include his partner, Annie Arledge; a daughter, April Lail and Furman Miller; a son, Robbie Lail; three brothers, Ralph, Howard, and Virgil; a sister, Sue Carol Bowling and husband, Tom; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews living nearby.
A memorial service will be held 11 am Saturday in the Lutz-Austell Funeral Home Chapel with Tim Ware officiating.
