Roy R. Grier, age 67, died Sunday, June 17, 2018 at his home. Roy was born in Cleveland County on April 16, 1951 to the late Lilly Mae Grier Beaty. Roy was a member of Lattimore Baptist Church and served on many committees including House & Grounds. He was also a sports fan and owned "Roy's Card Shop" in Shelby/Boiling Springs. Roy worked at Bi-Lo as produce manager for 23 years and then retired and went to Ingle's.

In addition to his mother, Roy is preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Matthew Grier.

Roy is survived by his wife of 47 years, Selena Hardin Grier of the home; two sons; Shane Grier and his wife Janet of Vanceboro and Jason Grier and his wife Kelly of Shelby; and five grandchildren, Autumn Pham, Hunter Grier, Grayson Grier, Abby Grier and Carson Grier.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Lattimore Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Cooper and Rev. Jim Wall officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm-3:00pm in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
